- About the Prostate
As a man ages, the prostate gland begins to grow. As it does, it presses on the urethra and bladder blocking the normal flow of urine from the bladder. The effects of this are symptoms associated with either emptying the bladder or bladder storage.
Bladder normal prostate
Bladder enlarged prostate
More than half of men in their sixties, and as many as 90% of men in their 70's and 80's have symptoms of an enlarged prostate. For this reason it is important to take your prostate health seriously and to visit a urologist regularly.
