Acai berries contain antioxidants that neutralize free radical damage and protect cells from oxidative damage related to aging and environmental stress.
The dark purple pigments in Acai berries contain anthocyanidins for high ORAC (oxygen-radical absorbance capacity) value and antioxidant potential. Although blueberries are known for high ORAC value, Acai berries have twice the ORAC value of blueberries.
